Hi, the instructions for installing the door sensor state that the sensor part should go on the door and the magnet on the frame, is this crucial? Does it detect motion or something?
I’m hoping to recess the sensor in my door frame and utilise the Ultion Bolt magnet within the door (it successfully operates the sensor).
I just want to be sure I’m not compromising the effectiveness before I start any cutting!
Hi Jordan. You can install the sensor and magnet as desired; they can be placed on the frame or the door. The most important thing is only the distance between them.

The rebate is not that wide. To be honest, I doubt a door with such wide rebate exist.
How to place the sensor in my case? Perhaps I need some distance on the frame, to make the frame aligned flat with door’s rebate?
@Bania1988 Just try different positions of your magnet. For sure, you will find a setup that will work. Please also attach a screenshot of your door if possible.
