Auto Unlock feature has been not great recently and after December 13 it doesn’t work at all. Meanwhile I changed my phone and still not working. Everything is set up, the app has all needed access but it just won’t work. Any ideas?
Hi. Sorry to hear you’re having issues with the Auto Unlock feature. When you access the settings in the app for Auto Unlock in the last status screen what was the trigger?
you mention a new phone. Can I ask a silly question? Are you still logged into the tedee account on your old phone as well as the new phone? If they are paired to the same lock both giving location updates then the lock may get confused about leaving the exit zone. So it may fail to trigger the Auto Unlock on your return.
Have you tried using the iOS widget, if your new phone is an iPhone, to manually trigger the Auto Unlock process. Does that work?
Hope you manage to get it sorted. ![]()
Sorry another silly question. The app is still running in the background? If it crashes or is accidentally closed you should get this reminder notification to take action.
Hello,
thank you for your response.
The last completed status says the trigger was Entering in zone, as on your picture.
My phone is Android. The old one (also Android) has been turned off and if I remember correctly, I have uninstalled the Tedee app. Will check it. However, the problems started even before the switch.
I will check whether the app is running in the background, however, there are no reminders popping up.
Cool, I take it the last successful Auto Unlock was not the last time you arrived home, it showed a different start date and time? This is making me thinks for some reason the Tedee app is unaware you left the exit (out) zone. Can you check the distance settings for the zones just to be sure.
I’m not an Android user so please forgive my ignorance here. Does the Android version offer widgets? if so does it have the Auto Unlock widget that allow you to manually start the Auto Unlock process meaning you can bypass the need to exit the zone. It’s just to check the lock is communicating with the phone. If this works them I would say its defo an issue with the phone reporting it’s exited the out zone. I’m not even sure if the Android app is required to be open in the background on Android but it can’t hurt to leave it open (running) while testing.
Also just to check do you receive notifications from the Tedee app? Are they turned on? It may also be worth checking if the confirmation option is turned on in the Auto Unlock advanced settings. This will require you to respond to a notification for the Auto Unlock to complete. for some reason you may not be getting these notifications? I have it turned off.
Have you had any updates that could cause issues? What lock are you using? Is it the Pro or the Go?
It’s the Pro version. No updates that I can think of that could cause this. All other apps relying on GPS are working fine.
The last succesful date was December 13, since then I have left and came home countless times.
I re-checked distances, all is set.
I started the app while outside the zones and left it running in the background when I came home. No luck, still no Auto Unlock started.
There is widget to manually start Auto Unlock and when activated, the Auto Unlock starts with no problems.
Notifications are turned on and confirmation is turned off.
It looks like Tedee app is not registering when I’m leaving and entering the zones but I have no idea why. Tedee has permission to read poistion all the time.
I agree with you. I think you have done all you can. It may be best to contact support and see it they can help further.
it sounds like an app problem to me. It’s an exit geofence issue for sure. How to fix it is beyond me.
You could try logging out of the app. Delete it and all its data. Re-install it and start a fresh. That’s all I can think of. Hopefully support will have an idea.
Maybe it’s a bug and they can use your issue to help nuke it and test a fix ![]()
Or try toggle off the Auto Unlock feature wait a few mins and turn it back on? Yeah yeah kinda like the turn it off and on again… tends to always work ![]()
Thank you @jbuk72 for giving help. @MH_E please contact our support, we will need logs from your applicaiton
Hello!
Just to add that after the most recent app update on Android, auto unlock works like a charm.
Thank you ![]()
Hello all!
After the latest update, auto-unlock in the Go model works, but with a noticeable delay. Before the update, the lock was responding much more quickly.
