Expose Keypad PRO & Door Sensor to Local API for Home Assistant and other Home automations

Description

Please add support for exposing Keypad PRO and Door Sensor events to the local Bridge API. This would allow local systems like Home Assistant to access real-time unlock methods (fingerprint, PIN) and door open/close states.

Who and why would benefit?

Home automation users would benefit from faster, more reliable, and privacy-friendly integrations. Local API support ensures automations work even if internet connectivity or the Tedee cloud is unavailable.

Enabling this integration through the Local API would unlock many new use cases, similar to what competing brands already provide with their local integrations or MQTT.

Examples

  • If the lock is unlocked via fingerprint, automatically disable a home alarm.

  • If the door sensor reports “open” while the alarm is armed, trigger a siren or lights.

  • Send instant notifications based on who unlocked the door, without cloud delay.

  • When the door is locked from the outside using the Keypad PRO, automatically switch off all lights and arm the home alarm.

  • When the door is locked manually from inside using the lock button, keep lights on and do not arm the alarm, since the user is still at home.

I have been asking since launch for more functionality with Homey, but it looks like nobody cares.

They would probably sell a whole lote more of these keypads if they made it work with smart home platforms.

Talk about a missed opportunity.

I would immediately buy the Keypad Pro if home automation integration would be implemented. This would enable a large amount of new use cases and improve the maturity of the Tedee ecosystem.

This functionality is really missing and would enable so many things. I am hoping these features are something considered in a future release.

Totally. I would expect majority of the features to be available for HA
