# HomeKit connection through the bridge

Currently the lock is connecting to HomeKit directly through Bluetooth. This requires having your HomeKit hub within Bluetooth range of the hub.  
Would be great to have the option to connect the lock to HomeKit through wifi, using the existing bridge wifi connection. Doing so, you would not have to buy another HomeKit hub to place it near the lock…

Hi, Unfortunately HomeKit does not allow to use a bridge to connect to the lock. The Lock must be connected directly to HomeKit hub.

Hmm, my HomeKit is able to connect to the bridge fine.

Hi, you don’t connect the bridge to the HomeKit, just the tedee lock.
